The Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at the VU University Amsterdamare looking to
collaboratein the call:ENV.2009.2.2.1.5 Management and protection of coral reefs in the
Wider Caribbean.
Researchers Pieter van Beukering and Luke Brander at IVM have
considerable experience in the field of economic valuation and management of coral reefs.
The mainareas of research for which IVMcould provide input include:
*   economic valuation of coral reef ecosystem services(including meta-analysis of values
    and value transfer);
*   economic evaluation ofcoral reef management strategies;
*   economic damage assessment ofcoral reefs;
*   developing economic instruments formanagement/protection of coral reef ecosystem
    services.
In addition to our work in coral reef economics, IVM also has expertise in water
chemistry/pollution monitoring and remote sensing of marine environments, which could be
of importance to this call.
