The solar radiation is measured and modelled and the influence of different atmospheric factors can be obtained. From UV-B measurements the erythemal UV-B solar radiation is evaluated and the UVI ( UV index). The solar radiation is modelled by radiative transfer models and the effects of atmosphere characteristics are evaluated.

oUniversity of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.   The Department of Civil Engineering is a basic unit of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) in charge of the coordination of the teaching, researching and technology transfer tasks related to Structural Engineering, Transport, Environmental and Geological Engineering. The department consists of 41 professors and research staff and 4 administrative and technical staff. They are divided into various research groups, one of those is GEOGAR (Regional and Applied Geology). Within GEOGAR our division of Geomorphology and Geology Applied to the Engineering ( www.gi.ulpgc.es/geogar/ )  is particularly interested in scientific international cooperation.
