This is a reminder call to submit papers to the 5th International Strategic Management Conference, as the deadline for submission of extended abstracts ( Feb. 25, 2009) is approaching. Organized jointly by Beykent University of Istanbul, Turkey, the Gebze Institute of Technology of Kocaeli, Turkey, and the Onsekiz Mart University of Çanakkale, Turkey, with the kind cooperation this year of the Stellenbosch University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, the conference will take place between the dates of July 2-4, 2009, Thursday through Saturday. This year’s conference will explore the theme of “Striking the right balance between existing strategy and new opportunities, with special emphasis on turbulent markets.”
Since its inception in 2005, the International Strategic Management Conference has achieved considerable success as a forum for the exchange of the latest research findings and practical solutions of a wide scope in the field of strategic management. Its success is in no small part due to your valuable contributions in the past.

We are planning to arrange a special Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Cape Town, South Africa, to minimize travel costs. Research assistants, doctors, and assistant professors may stay at Stellenbosch University accommodations at economic rates; those wishing to take advantage of this option are advised to contact Professor Johan Hough of Stellenbosch University as soon as possible. On the attached registration form that you can download from the conference Web site also, you can fill out an application form and send it to Conference Secretariat (

jhough@sun.ac.za). Groups may also choose to stay at a guest house operated by the tour company Wild Travel at economic rates for conference attendees. Again, contact information is provided on the registration form on the conference Web site. We are also planning to organize excursions to the beautiful sites in the environs of Cape Town and the Cape Winelands.
