300 college students and young entrepreneurs are expected to convene at the UN Headquarters in New York City from May 20-22, 2008 for Athgo International?s 4th annual Global Forum titled, ?the Politics and Economics of Information and Communication Technologies.? The three-day interactive event will explore the significance of ICT universal proliferation to meeting the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and economic and political challenges associated with implementation. The participants, within groups and individually, will be tasked with designing commercially and politically viable solutions addressing some of the issues highlighted by experts, private and public sector executives, UN senior officials as well as on-ground entities and individuals.

The forum is set to encourage young people to get engaged in, develop, and propose new sustainability and renewable energy initiatives in creative and cordial environment. Each participant will have an opportunity to engage corporate and public decision-makers and his/her peers while drafting group and individual innovative solutions to address global environmental and alternative energy challenges. The forum will conclude with young participants presenting their plans on group innovation panels. The proposals will be evaluated by leaders in government, the private sector, and civil society, and will be showcased at the conference closing ceremonies. The individuals with best results, with the support of Athgo, will continue the development of the business models.
